Way back in 1949 the Bhanusali’s started Somnath Oil Mill that produced Oil. Business flourished. Soon they started Somnath Rice Mill and Veraval Marine Product. But with time they had to close these units. In 1980 Gyan T. Bhanusali set up Soap and detergent and a Sodium Silicate manufacturing unit in Veraval.
And for their soda ash requirement they approached Tata Chemicals Ltd and soon they started dealing with TCL on a regular basis. In the year 1984-85 they decided to shift from manufacturing to trading and became Distributors of ” Tata Chemcails Ltd.”
In 1983, Gyan T Bhanusali received the ” Self Made Industrialist” award from the then Vice-President of India Mr. M.Hidayatullah during the 7th Economic Growth Conference organized by the Institute of Trade and Industrial Development. The Sister Concern ” Jay Chemicals Agency” are Distributors for ” Aditya Birla Nuva Ltd, Grasim Industries Ltd, Birla Cellulose Ltd.
Apart from managing business, they are also associated with various social organizations like Somnath Education Society, Ankur Higher Secondary School, Somnath College, and Rotary Club etc. Mr. Bhanusali is also a committee member of GIDC Junagadh District and has helds the position as Chairman Telephone & Electricity Board Committee of the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce Veraval.
